Catholic Charities serves as a resource for parish communities and families in times of disaster preparedness as well as recovery. While not considered a first responder, Catholic Charities assists by connecting with state and community-wide resources in times of disaster. Please take advantage of the tools and resources gathered here to prepare yourself, your families, and your communities.
CATHOLIC CHARITIES IS AVAILABLE TO:
Connect parishes to local resources (shelters, FEMA grant funds, disaster case management, volunteer reception centers, local COAD’s (community organizations active in disaster)
Provide crisis consultation services to parishes impacted by disasters.
Support parishes in helping individuals and families who have been directly impacted by disasters.
Current Disaster Proclamations
Gov. Kim Reynolds issued a disaster proclamation on April 25, 2023, for Clayton, Dubuque, & Jackson counties in response to Mississippi River flooding. The deadline to apply is June 9, 2023.
Gov. Kim Reynolds issued a disaster proclamation on April 1, 2023, for Delaware, Dubuque, Grundy, Jackson, and Linn counties in response to severe weather beginning March 31, 2023. The deadline to apply is May 16, 2023.
